Application scope
ASTM A737/A737M specifies high-strength low-alloy steel plates for pressure vessels, covering grades such as Gr.B, Gr.C, and Gr.D. They are delivered in normalized or quenched and tempered condition, balancing high strength, good toughness, and weldability. They are suitable for medium-thick-walled pressure-bearing welded structures and storage and transportation equipment, and facilitate weight reduction manufacturing.
Typical applications
It is widely used in liquefied gas storage tanks, high-pressure vessels and chemical reactors, as well as equipment such as thick-walled storage tanks and pressure-bearing heads; with its high strength and good weldability, it is easy to reduce the wall thickness, reduce the weight and manufacture efficiently. It is suitable for storage, transportation and reaction equipment shells that can withstand internal pressure, require good toughness and weldability, and are easy to weld and form and manufacture with weight reduction.
