Application scope
ASTM A213/A213M specifications define small-diameter seamless austenitic stainless steel tubes and ferritic and martensitic alloy tubes for boilers, superheaters, heat exchangers, and condensers. Delivery is typically in the solution-treated or annealed condition. Austenitic grades offer good high-temperature strength, oxidation resistance, and corrosion resistance. Stabilized and high-carbon varieties improve resistance to intergranular corrosion and durability, making them suitable for high-temperature, high-pressure, and corrosive media in heat-receiving surface fittings.
Typical applications
Primarily used in superheaters, reheaters, and economizer tubes of power plants and industrial boilers, as well as heat transfer tube bundles of various heat exchangers and condensers. Also used in small-diameter pipelines for conveying high-temperature corrosive media in petrochemical and chemical plants. With its excellent high-temperature strength and oxidation resistance, it can serve for a long time under heating surface conditions, making it suitable for boilers and heat exchange components with high requirements for wall temperature, corrosion resistance, and durability.
