Application scope
EN 10025-2 specifies non-alloy hot-rolled steel plates for general structural applications. The same series also covers sections and bars, classified by yield strength and impact toughness grades (JR, J0, J2, K2). The standard specifies the chemical composition, tensile properties, and impact requirements at different temperatures for each grade. The plates are delivered in hot-rolled condition, offering a wide strength range and good weldability, suitable for conventional load-bearing and enclosure structures that can be welded, bolted, or riveted.
Typical applications
Widely used in steel structural frames of factories and multi-story buildings, bridges, engineering machinery and equipment bases, as well as general structural components such as supports, platforms, and connectors. Grades are classified according to strength and impact toughness, allowing for flexible selection based on stress and operating temperature; S235 and S355 are the most commonly used. With excellent welding and processing properties, they are suitable for various conventional steel structure projects primarily using welding or bolt assembly.
