Application scope

EN 10025-6 specifies high-strength structural hot-rolled steel plates delivered in a quenched and tempered condition, covering different low-temperature impact grades such as S460Q, S500Q, S690Q to S960Q and QL, QL1, etc. It has a wide strength range, good hardenability and good weldability, and is suitable for welding load-bearing and heavy-duty structural components.

Typical applications

Widely used in heavy-duty engineering machinery, crane booms and mining equipment, as well as in heavy-duty structures such as pressure vessels, offshore platforms and bridges; with its high strength, it significantly reduces the structural weight and improves load-bearing and impact resistance, making it suitable for heavy structures and load-bearing components that are welded, pursue lightweight and high load-bearing capacity, and repeatedly withstand dynamic loads and impacts.
