Application scope
ASTM A517 (Cryogenic Grade) specifies high-strength alloy structural steel profiles for cryogenic structures that have been quenched and tempered. It includes multiple grades from Gr.A to Gr.S. In the quenched and tempered state, it combines high strength with excellent low-temperature toughness and is widely used in welded load-bearing frames and components of heavy cryogenic equipment, pressure vessels, and supporting structures.
Typical applications
It is mainly used for cryogenic pressure vessel supports, polar engineering structures and heavy cryogenic equipment frames. It is also used for cryogenic equipment bases, platforms and supports that bear heavy loads. With its high strength and excellent low-temperature toughness, it is suitable for welded high-strength steel structural load-bearing components in cold and cryogenic environments, reliably bearing heavy loads and ensuring long-term structural stability and safety.
