Application scope

EN 10217-2 is a marine-grade standard for welded steel pipes used in high-temperature pressure equipment on ships and offshore platforms, including grades such as P235GH, P265GH, and molybdenum-chromium alloy steels such as 16Mo3 and 13CrMo4-5. This standard specifies the composition, high-temperature strength, impact resistance, and weld requirements for high-temperature service. It features good high-temperature performance and weldability and is suitable for large-diameter high-temperature pressure pipelines.

Typical applications

Commonly used in high-temperature and pressure-bearing components such as large-diameter steam pipelines, engine room pipelines, and process pipelines on offshore platforms. Non-alloy grades are used for medium-temperature conditions, while molybdenum-chromium alloy grades are used for higher temperatures. With its excellent high-temperature strength, creep resistance, and weld quality, it is suitable for large-diameter, high-temperature, and high-pressure steam and heat medium transport systems in ships and offshore platforms for power and process piping systems.
