Application scope

JIS G3466 specifies square and rectangular steel tubes for general structures, also known as STKR corner tubes, which are classified into several grades from STKR400 to STKR540 according to strength. The standard specifies tensile properties, dimensions and shape, and process tests. High-strength grades have stricter composition control. The square and rectangular sections facilitate butt joints and connections. They have good load-bearing and processing performance and are suitable for welded or bolted connections in building and general structural hollow components.

Typical applications

Widely used in load-bearing and supporting components such as steel structure columns and frames, curtain walls and window frames, billboards and signage frames, equipment supports and railings. With its regular square and rectangular hollow cross-section, easy splicing and installation, and excellent compressive and torsional resistance, it is both aesthetically pleasing and efficient, making it suitable for exposed steel structures, lightweight frames, and various building and structural projects that mainly use square and rectangular tubes.
