12 High-Cube Containers in 15 Days: Mexico Steel Structure Factory Project

Mexico's industrial building market is expanding rapidly, with demanding requirements for load-bearing performance, fabrication accuracy and tight delivery schedules. For a steel structure factory project, we completed fabrication, coating, quality inspection and high-standard packing of 12 high-cube containers in just 15 days, covering drawing confirmation through export loading.

MEXICO INDUSTRIAL BUILDING | STEEL STRUCTURE MANUFACTURING & EXPORT

Project Background

As the North American manufacturing supply chain continues to reorganize, demand for industrial plant construction in Mexico keeps growing. We took on the export fabrication task for a steel structure plant project in Mexico. The project demanded load-bearing performance, machining accuracy and connection-node fit, and it also came with a compressed production and delivery schedule. The team worked in step across drawing confirmation, production planning, quality inspection and export packing to ensure the shipment was ready on schedule.

Core Challenges

Tight Schedule

From drawing confirmation through fabrication, coating, packing and port consolidation, the overall timeline was limited, requiring efficient handover between processes.

Large Concentrated Shipment

With a shipment volume of 12 HQ containers, the project placed high demands on capacity planning, material supply, site scheduling and loading organization.

High Precision for Critical Connections

Beam-to-column end plates and bolt holes had to match the design drawings precisely to minimize adjustment work during overseas installation.

On-Site Photos | Centralized Packing of White-Coated Steelwork

The site photos show white-coated steel beams, connection end plates, layered stacking and heavy cradle fixing, reflecting the sorting and packing management applied before shipment.

Execution Highlights Behind "China Speed"

Full-Chain Coordination to Cut Waiting Time

Drawing detailing, steel material preparation, cutting, assembly and welding, coating and packing were planned as one schedule, keeping consecutive processes tightly linked and improving overall execution efficiency.

Focus on Critical Nodes and Machining Accuracy

Critical parts such as beam-to-column connection end plates and bolt holes were machined and inspected to drawing requirements, ensuring good fit-up conditions on site.

Custom Cradles and Layered Separation to Protect Coated Surfaces

White-coated components are placed neatly on red heavy-duty channel bases, with timber battens between them to reduce direct contact, compression and surface friction during transport.

Component Numbering for Easy On-Site Retrieval

Component numbers, markings and sorted stacking make container tally, on-site identification and installation planning smoother.
