Application scope
ASTM A672 specifies electrofusion welded (EFW) steel pipes for medium and high temperature applications, which are made by rolling and welding steel plates and are suitable for large-diameter, thick-walled pipes. The grades are divided into series such as CC, CM, and CJ according to the base material and strength, such as Gr.CC60 and Gr.CC70, which take into account medium and high temperature strength and good welding and forming properties.
Typical applications
It is mainly used in pressure pipelines such as large-diameter main steam pipes in power plants, high-temperature pipelines in petrochemical plants, and high-temperature process pipes in chemical plants. Electrofusion welded steel pipes are easy to manufacture large-diameter thick-walled pipe sections and have a relatively low cost. They are suitable for medium- and high-temperature, high-flow-rate media transportation and main pipelines and connecting pipelines in high-temperature process systems. They are a commonly used standard for large-diameter medium- and high-temperature welded steel pipes.
