Application scope

JIS G3452 specifies carbon steel pipes for low-pressure piping, commonly known as SGP pipes, which can be galvanized or ungalvanized. The standard mainly specifies the upper limits of phosphorus and sulfur, as well as the tensile strength, elongation, and flattening properties. It has relatively lenient requirements on composition, and the pipes have good processing, bending, and connection properties. They are suitable for the transportation of general fluids such as water, gas, and oil at normal temperature and low pressure, and for building piping systems.

Typical applications

Widely used in building and municipal water supply and drainage pipelines, gas pipelines, fire protection pipelines, cable protection conduits, and general indoor and outdoor piping, SGP pipes can be connected by threads or flanges, and galvanized pipes are more corrosion resistant. With its excellent economy, ease of processing and connection, SGP pipes are suitable for general fluid transportation and piping projects with low pressure, various diameters, and a focus on cost and construction efficiency, making them a common basic piping choice.
